Description
This special edition from Gordon & MacPhail was created to celebrate the life of George Urquhart – fondly known as Mr George by those who knew him best. He created the Connoisseurs Choice range in 1968 to showcase single malt whiskies that were mostly destined for blending, including his personal favourite, Glen Grant.
The third edition in the Legacy series, this 1959 Glen Grant was aged in a first-fill sherry butt for 63 long years before being bottled in 2022 at natural cask strength.

About the Distillery:
Glen Grant was founded in 1840, by brothers John and James Grant, two former illegal distillers and smugglers who decided to take out a license. With the sea and port of Garmouth nearby, the River Spey at its feet and barley-growing plains nearby, all the basic ingredients of malt whisky were close at hand. This time the distillery was legal.
